Bewley’s was the first company to import Fairtrade Coffee into Ireland ten years ago and is currently the biggest importer of Fairtrade Coffee in Ireland. We purchase all our coffee and tea at prices which support the economic viability, livelihoods and social well being of coffee and tea producers.

Bewley’s was built on the Quaker values of community, equality, honesty, fairness and integrity of character. It’s why we work with ethical trading organisations such as Rainforest Alliance, Utz Kapeh and Fairtrade.

We believe in living by our ethical trading policy so, for example, we pay a premium for coffee at La Virgen Estate coffee farm in Nicaragua in order to provide accommodation, clinics and a school on the farm. And we get excellent coffee!
